This means the area that can be managed is equal to the area covered by the sample. Results between these points can vary significantly. Moving to grid or zone sampling improves the accuracy with more sampling points. Soil Optix scans result in a much higher resolution of nutrient distribution across the field and adds in some other soil measurements such as percent sand, silt, clay and water characteristic measurements.
This additional high-resolution data set enhances the management input into determining variable rate applications of seed and fertility.
