Great Lakes Grain enters grain marketing partnership with MacEwen Farms

CHATHAM ONTARIO, September 25, 2019 - Great Lakes Grain is pleased to announce that we have entered into a partnership agreement with MacEwen Farms, effective immediately.

MacEwen Farms is operated by James and Robyn MacEwen of Gorrie Ontario. They have been operating a cash crop farm and elevator grain receiving business since 2007. MacEwen Farms have more than one million bushels of storage and offer grain receiving, drying and storage services for local producers.

“Having Great Lakes Grain as our marketing partner allows us to have greater flexibility in our offerings to producers and gives us an added advantage to our farmers,” says James MacEwen, owner of MacEwen Farms.“Great Lakes Grain was the perfect fit for our business,” added MacEwen.

“This new partnership with MacEwen Farms is a tremendous opportunity for Great Lakes Grain to expand its current marketplace and enhance our presence in the Ontario marketplace,” says Don Kabbes, general manager for Great Lakes Grain. “We look forward to working closely with MacEwen Farms and their local producers, assisting them in developing grain marketing plans for their individual farming operations.,” added Kabbes.

Great Lakes Grain is one of the largest operators of Ontario country elevators. It represents close to 20 million bushels of storage capacity with total marketing in excess of 40 million bushels. Great Lakes Grain serves farmers out of 25 AGRIS Co-operative and FS PARTNERS branded locations that span from Windsor through to Toronto and north to Georgian Bay.
